More About Professional Organizing

What is Professional Organizing?

Besides the thing that brings me joy and peace in life, you mean? Professional organizing is a purposeful system and approach to organizing anything from a closet to an estate, or from a file to a business. And it looks completely different to each person – there is no one right way to organize!

I know it can be intimidating. You’re sharing your personal, private, and often chaotic space with a stranger (and this “stranger” is very honored!). At the beginning of every session we work together to define YOUR goals and needs for the space vs. imposing a “one size fits all” approach (side note – those never work!). I love to work with clients supporting them thru real-life decisions and changes!

How long does it take?

That is a hard question to answer! Similar to a nutritionist or doctor knowing how long it will take their client to lose 10 pounds–each person’s situation is very unique. Determining factors can include:

  • amount of clutter
  • ability of client to make decisions
  • client budget and timeline
  • availability of both the client and Tidy Tammy

Some clients need an initial session to get them unstuck and then continue on their own. Others prefer weekly or monthly sessions to get to the bottom of the disorganization, and periodic virtual check ins for accountability and momentum. There is no “normal” – each client has a unique combination of circumstances that requires a unique solution in order to be successful.

How much does it cost?

Like the previous question, the cost will depend on the size and scope of the project, the client’s ability to make decisions, as well as how much time is spent with the client. Tammy works at the client’s pace, and aims to complete the organizing job in an efficient, economical manner. 

Certified Professional Organizer® (CPO) enhances lives through; education about the costs of, and reasons for, clutter and disorganization, and the benefits of getting and staying organized; by teaching people effective organizing skills and habits; and by designing systems and processes based on sound organizing principles that are tailored to meet individual needs.

As a Certified Professional Organizer (and human being in general) my goal is to see you succeed in clutter control. I’m here every step of the way to support, encourage, and fight through the overwhelm with you! Having worked with clients both virtually and in person for over 10 years I understand that each of us are unique in how we approach projects and that “normal” is just a setting on the washing machine!
